SeeThruLA
SeeThruLA is a special place-based choral concert offering a series of reflections on our favorite LA locations, told through the poetry and music of local artists.
New compositions explore memories of classic haunts like Low End Theory and the Ambassador Hotel, as well as the relatable day-to-day experiences of city life: struggling through traffic, finding refuge from foreign hostility, and yearning for feelings of home. This concert is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture and made possible, in part, by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. |
im//materialMay 25, 2024C3LA presents im//material on May 25, 7pm, at MonkSpace in Koreatown. Freddie Mercury once asked “is this the real life? Is it just fantasy?” While we can’t say we know the answer to that question, im//material presents music on the things we can touch, feel, or at least say is part of “the real life.” Banging rocks, glass breaking, rainbow rags. People in a space using their voices, as sounds bounds off the brick-layered walls of MonkSpace: enter “the real life” at im//material. This concert features music by members of C3LA including Tanner Pfeiffer, Aria Gittelson, Vera Lugo, and Richard An, as well as music from composers outside the collective.
